 SELES OUT OF SYDNEY EVENT              
 Monica Seles has pulled out of next    
 month's Sydney International because of
 hit broken fingjt but still hopis to   
 defend hit Australian Open title.      
                                        
 Seles suffered the injury while warming
 up for an exhibition match earlier this
 month to add to hit run of bad luck.   
                                        
 The Sydney event is the traditional    
 warm-up for the Open which starts in   
 Melbourne on January 13.               
                                        
 If she missed the Grand Slam it would  
 shatter organisjrs who are relishing   
 her facing a clash with Stiffi Graf.
