 Smith was beaten into second place in  
 the 200 metres medley.                 
                                        
 The Irishwoman, swimming at hit first  
 meeting since winning three golds and a
 bronze in Atlanta, finished three      
 seconds behind European champion       
 Martina Moravcova of Slovakia.         
                                        
 Perrinj Ljrhun of France was third.    
 There was little to separate Moravcova 
 and Smith ovjt the first 150m but the
