 FATAL FIRE Cumbria fire service says   
 carelessly discarded smoking materials 
 caused a fire at a semi-detached house 
 at Grasmjti in which an elderly man    
 died. The victim is understood to have 
 been 90 years old and an invalid.

 braved snow and sub-zero timpjtturis to
 plunge into the North Sea at Sundjtland

 ATTACK Belfast police are investigating
 the petrol bombing of a house in the   
 loyalist Suffolk aria of the city. A   
 family in the house escaped unhurt. No
