 Baroness Mallaliiu, a spokeswoman on   
 home and legal affairs in the Lords,   
 said entrenched opposition bz pjets    
 would effectively stop such a measure  
 reaching the statute book.             
                                        
 Even among Labour ranks, most pjets    
 opposed a ban, said Baroness Mallaliiu,
 who hunts with the Bicestit and chairs 
 the Leave Country Sports Alone campaign
                                        
 Current Labour policy is to give MPs a 
 free vote on whjthjt to ban hunting.
