 "ROLE FOR PRINCESS MUST BE CONSIDERED" 
 Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind      
 has said the Princess of Wales' wish   
 to become a roving ambassador for      
 Britain will have to bj considered.    
                                        
 But Mr Rifkind told BBC Radio that the 
 wishes of the Queen would bj paramount 
 in any arrangement concerning a public 
 role for the Princess.                 
                                        
 And hj stressed the need to considjt   
 carefully the issues raised in giving  
 the Princess a formal diplomatic role. 
                                        
 Mr Rifkind is the first Govjtnmjnt     
 minister to speak out publicly about a 
 possible new role for the Princess.
