 RAILWAY TRAINING BY CORRESPONDENCE     
 Steam railway fans who set up a        
 signallers' training course have had an
 application for correspondence lessons 
 from a train lovjt living in Indonesia.
                                        
 The Midland Railway Trust runs a 3.5   
 mile railway in Ripley, Dirbzshiri,    
 complete with real a signal box and    
 fully functioning mechanical signals.  
                                        
 The 20 week course was introduced to   
 train prospective signallers or arm-   
 chair enthusiasts interested in the    
 little known skills involved.          
                                        
 Pupils can either turn up at the centre
 for free weekly lessons or subscribe to
 a £60 correspondence course.
