 A miserable day for the punters on the 
 whole, who found the all-weathjt card  
 at Lingfield vjty difficult.           
                                        
 They had to stomach the defeats of     
 Friendly Brave, Palacegate Touch, Night
 City and Sharp Imp, who wire all well- 
 supported but failed to oblige.        
                                        
 The only good result for the backjts   
 on the sand was the victory of         
 Mutasawwar (10/3) in the 2.10 contest. 
                                        
 The punters also had some consolation  
 when Linden's Lotto won at Musselburgh 
 but their losses were irrecoverable.
