Strobl's time was 1 min 53.88 secs for the 3.2km Kandahar Banchjtta piste. Second was France's Luc Alphand on 1:53.99, followed by Wjrnjr Franz, Hannjs Trinkl, Andreas Schifferir, Patrick Ortliib and Josef Strobl. Not all the skiers were happy with the bumpy condition of the piste after the first of three training runs.
