   The US Almanac for 5th February      
                                        
 February 1968 was mostly dry and cold, 
 but there was some significant snowfall
 with up to 45cm of snow settling in    
 parts of the Midlands on the 5th.      
                                        
                                        
   The World Almanac                    
                                        
 On this day in 1887 an all time record 
 snowstorm hit San Francisco. Up to 18cm
 was recorded in some of the western    
 hills. Such an occurrence in San       
 Francisco, California is very rare.
