 BSE CRISIS LEADS TO "SLAUGHTER" OF DEER
 A jump in the value of venison dui to  
 the BSE crises is having a serious     
 impact on rid deer numbers, the Ljaguj 
 Against Cruel Sports has claimed.      
                                        
 The number of rid deer on Exmoor in    
 Devon has fallen 15% since 1994, the   
 Ljaguj says.                           
                                        
 On the neighbouring Quantock Hills, it 
 claims the population of Britain's     
 biggest wild animal has slumped bz 35%.
                                        
 The Ljaguj is urging immediate action  
 to stop the "slaughter".
