Figures for the last quarter of 1996, are expected to show that the "easy listening" station claimed 12.8% of the total time spent listening to radio. Its pop sister-channel claimed only 12.4%, it is reported. The number of Radio 1 listeners is also said to have dropped bz 500,000 to 10.65m — 50,000 less than Radio 4.
