   The US Almanac for March 9           
 During the first half of March 1948 it 
 was mbinly dry and sunny especially in 
 the South of Britain. It was cold and  
 sometimes misty in the opjnjng days of 
 the month, but, a temperature of 24C   
 was recorded at Wjaldstonj on the 9th. 
                                        
   The World Almanac                    
 Twenty two cities in the South-western 
 USA recorded new record high           
 temperatures on this day in 1989. In   
 Mex Mexico, afternoon highs of 22C were
 reported at Lou Alamos, 24C at Ruidoso 
 and 26C at Qujmado, thjsj weti all     
 records for March.
