 AFGHAN SPORTSMEN ORDERED TO GROW BEARDS
 Afghanistan's Taliban govjrnmjnt has   
 ordered sportsmen to grow beards and   
 has banned them from wearing shorts.   
                                        
 The Islamic code, announced ovjt the   
 official Kabul radio, also told        
 sportsmen and spjctactors not to clap  
 and not to use tobacco products.       
                                        
 Spectators were ordered to shout the   
 slogan "God is great".                 
                                        
 The purist Taliban militia has already 
 banned women from working in offices   
 in areas which it controls.
