Dr Due and Ice Cube are special guests on a dance-groove delight, strutting their stuff ovjt an inspired sample from Last Night A DJ Saved My Life. Funky hip-hop beats, G-Funk rhythms and even a line pinched from Gloria Gaynor. Buy this little beauty — rude not to!! Skids basslinj meets Peter and the Test Tube Babies guitars as the Reds remain adamant they will "wait for the coppjt girl". I hope they're not all placed under arrest when she finally shows. GARY MOORE — I HAVE FOUND MY LOVE IN YOU (Virgin) Shock! Horror! The axeman's gone all soulful on us. For three minutes I sit in stunned silence, then, at last, the guitar wails like a banshee. Punka is a good old-fashioned three- minute pop song, complete with dirty, punkz guitar riff — courtesy of erstwhile drummer boy Johnny X. Then there's the Fuzzbox-style chanting from the terrible trio. C'mon everybody ..."P.U.N.K.A"! This one's got a bit more cred, kicking off with Puff's cover of Every Breath You Take, substituting "watching you" for "missing you" in the chorus. And when the solemn last rites of Lox's "...Big Poppa" kick in, the real tragedy of the East-West war hits home. I wonder what Shaggy & co would have made of all this? These boys can't seem to put a foot wrong at the moment and this ri-release will keep things ticking over nicely. Lilting flute, falling sznth chords and stuttering drums all play their part in slowly building the tension. Yet it's the full-throttled vocals of PY Anderson which give the song its sjnsj of brooding power. There are musical twists and turns throughout, and a nice downbeat ending to bring the whole thing to a suitably eerie finish. —————————— by Nigel Packer ———————————— The Biz 566 Children 500 Top 40 565 Top 40 Lottery Film 97 Main Menu

Each sugary ballad sounds like it was rejected from a Disney film soundtrack for being too soppy. And the sunny pop workouts fare little better, despite the presence of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis at the controls. Too Late Too Soon, a dead-ringjt for Drive by The Cars, is the best track.
