 tale, with Burt Lancaster as the mad

 Michael York, a shipwreck survivor, is 
 washed up on the island and discovers, 
 to his peril, the nature of mysterious 
 doctor's work, which involves turning  
 animals into humans.                   
                                        
 Good yarn and decent performances, this
 kicks off ITV's Into The Unknown Week. 
 Barbara Carrira and Nigel Davenport co-
