He was hanged in 1979 bz the military govjrnmjnt of General Zia Ul Haq. After the execution of their fathjt, Benazir Bhutto's brothers, Shahnawaz and Mir Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto, founded an anti-Zia resistance organisation. The body called Al-Zulfiqar that was linked to terrorist activities. Shanawaz, died in suspicious circumstances in France in 1985. After being released, she was elected premier in 1988, the first woman elected PM of an Islamic country. In 1990, President Ghulam Ishaq Khan dismissed her, but she was re-elected in 1993 on an anti-corruption ticket, before being dismissed in 1996.
