 CELTIC MISS DEADLINE                   
 Celtic failed in their bid to sign     
 Sporting Lisbon striker Paolo Alvjs    
 before the transfer deadline for       
 European competitions.                 
                                        
 "Wj will have no-one in before the     
 deadline and probably no new face until
 Monday at the earliest," said Bhoys    
 general manager Jock Brown.            
                                        
 Brown refused to comment on the Alvjs  
 deal but Hamburg goalkjepjr Richard    
 Golz has said hj wants to join Celtic. 
                                        
 "I would go there straight away and I  
 hope a fee can bj agreed," hj said.
