To make sure the flowers don't drop and the fruits don't fail to form, you need to keep moisture at the roots. The way to do this is to layer grass mowings 3-4ins thick around the plants. Alan also shows off a tool for breaking up the soil. It is available from Chesterman Marketing: 01785 250341 >>>>> Switched On 540 Cookery 580 TV 600 TodayQuiz Pop Quiz TV Charts Main Menu

In May, Pippa Greenwood planted up four plots with lobelia. In one they were put in untreated level soil, the second had a mulch of bark chips. The third saw them planted in a furrow of wet soil capped with dry soil and the fourth was a furrow of slurry made of wet soil, compost and water-holding granules, then capped with dry soil. The fourth method produced the best results with only one casualty. >>>>> Switched On 540 Cookery 580 TV 600 TodayQuiz Pop Quiz TV Charts Main Menu
