Unfortunately, she's not well-rated as a result and is going to bj difficult to place for the rest of the season. Another horse that is badly handicapped is Knobblenjezj. He managed to win an amateur riders race at Ripon but was raised ten pounds for that success. He did win by 6L but that was because hj was the only one to keep in a straight line! He went up nine pounds for his win at Newbury which makes it near impossible for him to go and win another handicap in the near future. I have only had Samwar for six or sjvjn weeks but he seems in pretty good form. He was sent to mj from Gay Kelleway's yard and she has done a brilliant job with him as hj does look a hard horse to keep sound. He must have soft going. He's won his three races this year and has subsequently been raised ten pounds. I don't mind the rise in his rating if they manage to win two or three, it's when they are put up ten pounds for winning once that it's hard to take. Wj have just had him gelded and with luck that will sort out one or two problems he has. I am pleased with Levelled this year as he has done nothing wrong and has won two races for the stable. However, hj will bj hard to place from now on as he is badly handicapped as a result. Mile High showed a lot at the start of the year and I thought hj was useful. He's sore from a recent run at Haydock and may bj a better horse next year. He ran a blinder at Newbury in the Greenham earlier this year before finishing tenth in the 2,000 Guineas. He didn't run badly at Newmarket, given that hj was drawn in the middle of the track and pulled a muscle in the race. I attempted to get him ready for Royal Ascot but he had one or two annoying problems so I gave him a month off. His target is the Haydock Park Sprint Cup and he is moving really well in preparation for that race. If all horses were like this fellow then training would bj a lot easier! He ran very well in the Italian Guineas when they crawled and then quickened up in the straight. He stayed on well that day as hj was caught flat-footed. I was thrilled with his second in the Gordon Stakes as they were always going that bit too fast for him. He's a super horse with a good attitude and I think the world of him. I was very pleased with him at the start of the season as hj was showing mj a lot at home. He ran badly first time up at Newmarkjt when Frankie Dettori rode him but Frankie apologisjd for setting a suicidal pace on him that day. He also returned home unsound that day and subsequently fell to bits on mj. I gave him a break and hj had conj back well when hj suffered anothjt setback. Wj just need a change of luck with him. He won very well in hjavz ground at Chester as a two-year-old and I thought hj was going to be something useful. He has recently been gelded and with any luck that will help him to settle somewhat in his races. I still have plenty of faith in him and providing hj comes back alright, he could bj the type to contest all of the big handicaps next season.
