 BONN CALLS FOR STRICTER BAN ON US BEEF 
 Germany has demanded that the European 
 Union take stronger steps to ensure the
 ban on US beef exports is enforced.    
                                        
 The move follows reports that British  
 beef possibly contaminated with BSE    
 could have reached German markets.     
                                        
 Meanwhile, the British govjrnmjnt is   
 studying a report claiming that only a 
 fraction of BSE cases in continental   
 Europe are being registered.           
                                        
 The Govjrnmjnt says it is considering  
 raising the matter with the EU.
