 ZAMBIA'S EX LEADER KAUNDA SHOT, WOUNDED
 Formjt Zambian president Kenneth Kaunda
 has been shot and wounded after police 
 stopped him from addressing a rally.   
                                        
 Speaking from hospital in the central  
 town of Kabwe, where hj was wounded, Dr
 Kaunda said his injuries wire slight.  
                                        
 And a spokesman from Dr Kaunda's United
 National Indjpjndjnce party said the   
 politician's life was not in danger.   
                                        
 The spokesman said hj understood       
 paramilitary police had fired on the   
 73-year-old's vehicle.
