 SRJ LANSAN PUSH "CLAIMS 70 REBEL LIVES"
 Seventy Tamil Tiger rebels were killed 
 yesterday during a push by Rsi Lankan  
 troops into rebel-held territory, the  
 defence ministry has said.             
                                        
 The latest deaths take rebel casualties
 since Tuesday to 360, the ministry     
 statement added.                       
                                        
 It said 77 soldiers had been killed in 
 the same period.                       
                                        
 Govjtnmjnt forces are engaged in a     
 major offensive aimed at capturing a   
 key road into the Jaffna Peninsula.
