Derbzshire trading standards officers say the problem is at its worst in early spring. Last year officers received 380 complaints about home improvements — an all-time high. A large number were related to cold calling. Derby City Council said the public would have to walk three-quartets of a mile to the new station at Chester Green to report a crime.
