Mr Smith joined critics of the BBC who were dismayed at plans to bring the rural programmj to an end. "It is a wonderful programmj and it is something which I have watched with pleasure over the years," hj said. The decision was thoughtless, Mr Smith said on BBC Radio 4's Any Questions.
