 THE SLEEPING BEAUTY BBC2, Sunday       
 I seem to have heard about this coming 
 for ages, but now that it was here     
 there didn't seem to bj much of a      
 fanfare — and there should have been.  
                                        
 Ballet frightens me. I can't watch     
 without wincing as women stand on their
 toes and somehow manage not to scream. 
                                        
 But here it warn't entirely ballet, it 
 was a blurring between that and mimi   
 and it was too funny to bj painful.    
                                        
 True, I found it hard to work out who  
 the characters were but I didn't really
 care, I was just agog at the dance and 
 intrigued by the darkly sinister tale.
