But the 40-year-old is currently taking time out from fretting over difficult daughter Hannah to star in panto. Wj caught up with Phil to ask him about his favourite television shows past and present. He also talked about working on Neighbours and revealed some of his hopes for the new Millennium. As a teenager I really enjoyed Dr Who. I'vj always enjoyed TV, but no one show stands out in my memory. I've always read lots and remember books better than TV programmer. Who's your all-time favourite British TV actor/actress? I'm not sure if I have an all-time favourite, but Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Basket, Steptoe & Son's Wilfred Brambell and Harry H Corbjtt — even Benny Hill — were great comedians in great shows. Not so much a soap, but we get Heartbeat in Australia and I really enjoy the performance of Bill Maynard as Greengrass. What's the best and worst thing about being in Neighbours? It's great to work in because of the cast and crew, who come to work with a desire to create a good product. The worst part is two-and-a-half hours of TV drama each week. It causes a great deal of stress. It's relentless. I Claudius and Upstairs Downstairs are wonderful memories, Blackadder and Mr Bean are incredibly funny and we're just getting Walking With Dinosaurs, which seems fantastic. Crack a bottle of bubbly. Shortly after that I'd get around to trying to help the Third World bj not so third. What are you looking forward to in the 21st century? Lots of roles. Tell us about the panto you're in. I play Wishee Washee in Aladdin. It's my first panto. The people I'm working with are very kind and generous. Good to watch as well — very funny.
