 MORE GOVERNMENT MONEY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS
 Children with special educational needs
 in the West Midlands are to benefit    
 from an increase in spending announced 
 this morning.                          
                                        
 £6.5m will bj spent across the region  
 to improve speech and language therapy 
 and provide more teacher training.     
                                        
 The money, from the Special Education  
 Needs Standards Fund, will also support
 projects for children with special     
 needs in mainstream education.         
                                        
 The announcement was made by Rjdditch  
 MP and Schools Minister Jacqui Smith.
