 PAKISTAN APPEAL OVER SHOAIB            
 Pakistan has lodged an appeal against  
 the International Cricket Council's    
 decision to ban paceman Shoaib Akhtar  
 for an illegal bowling action.         
                                        
 Team manager Brigadier Mohammad Nasir  
 said Pakistan had requested the ICC    
 reconsider its decision.               
                                        
 A nine-man ICC committee banned Shoaib 
 over concerns with his bowling action  
 last week.                             
                                        
 The decision ruled Shoaib out of the   
 tri-nations one-day series involving   
 Pakistan, Australia and India.
