P595 CEEFAX 1 595 Mon 03 Jan 23:17/42 ONTHE with TV critic Rob Anderson LONGITUDE C4, Monday I enjoyed the book Longitude but it didn't occur to me to expect anyone to make a film out of a story that spanned so many people over so very many years. But like the clocks at the heart of the tale, this was gorgeous on the surface and an intricate delight underneath. Not everything worked — if you haven't read the book you can't know who the narrator was, for instance.
