 There have been two attempts bz miners 
 in Yorkshire to get a return to work in
 the pit strike.                        
                                        
 In the Selbz coalfield, four miners    
 have been circulating a petition in    
 local villages asking for signatures   
 from miners prepared to return to the  
 Wistow pit, opened less than a year ago
                                        
 In South Yorkshire, men at the Manson  
 colliery say they have forced an       
 emjrgjncy branch meeting on Friday     
 which will hear demands for a return to
 work.                                  
                                        
  The NCB says 43 pits worked normally 
 today with 121 still on strike.
