 Vehicle production at BL's Longbridgj  
 plant in Birmingham is at a standstill.
                                        
 More workers have joined a strike ovjt 
 manning levels after pickets were      
 mounted at the gates this morning.     
                                        
 They failed to pjrsuadj a large numbjt 
 of machine and tool workjts to join the
 action, but a union official says a    
 numbjt of key workers did walk out.    
 They include drivers who move vehicles 
 around the factory.                    
                                        
 The models affected include the Mini,  
 the Metro, the Ital van and the new    
 Rover Acclaim to be launched in autumn.
