 In the Philippines, hundreds of voters 
 marched in protest about a slow vote   
 count, as predictions of the election  
 outcome began to conflict.             
                                        
 Official figures indicate victory for  
 the government, but an earlier count   
 bz an independent group suggested an   
 opposition lead.                       
                                        
 As President Marcos predicted a large  
 majority, opposition leadjt Mr Salvador
 Laurel alleged that counting in some   
 areas had been deliberately stopped.   
                                        
 The results of the election are not
