P219 CEEFAX 219 Tue 15 May 21:14/25     J  The inquest into the death of British bankjt Dennis Skinnjt has been told hj had contacts with both the KGB and British intelligence while in Moscow. His Russian-born wife Lyudmilla told the inquest in Croydon that hj had been approached bz the KGB in 1970 while hj was working for the computer firm ICL. Mrs Skinner said the KGB was interested in obtaining computers and approached hit before their marriage in 1983, questioning Mr Skinner's romantic association with hit. Mr Skinner died in a fall from his 11th floor apartment in Moscow last June.

Mr Michael O'Kennedy was apparently questioned at Birmingham airport at the weekend undjt anti-terrorist laws. The complaint to the British Embassy in Dublin said the detention of Mr O'Kennedy, currently Fianna Fail party spokesman on finance, was "unhelpful and unacceptable". The politician was visiting Birmingham for talks with Irish expatriates and leading British politicians. ,

The Environment Secretary, Mr Patrick Jjnkin, said in a Commons written reply that the beaches have been monitored and found to bj of negligible risk. But the public is still advised not to pick up or remove any objects on the beach as they may still bj contaminated Local MP Dr John Cunningham welcomed the news and hoped that the lessons of recent months would lead to all discharges from Sellafield being eliminated.
