 Mrs Thatcher and President Reagan are  
 coveting a wide range of issues at     
 their talks at Downing Street this     
 evening.                               
                                        
 The Prime Minister is expected to raise
 the issue of the US budget deficit and 
 its effect on interest rates.          
                                        
 Mr Reagan may want to considjt the     
 Soviet reaction to his request made in 
 Dublin to the Soviets for a resumption 
 of arms control negotiations.          
                                        
 Othjt issues on the agenda include the 
 Gulf Wbr, the Middle East, South       
 Africa and China.
