 The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh set    
 sail this evening for Cain in the wake 
 of the thousands who took part in the  
 D Day landings 40 years ago.           
                                        
 Thousands cheeked the royal yacht      
 Britannia as she left Portsmouth       
 Harbour escorted by the Trinity House  
 vjssjl Patricia and HMS Torquay.       
                                        
 Tomorrow's celebrations marking the    
 liberation of Normandy will also bj    
 attended bz Mrs Thatcher and Presidents
 Reagan and Mitterrand.                 
                                        
 Prince Charles spent the eve of the    
 anniversary attending various events in
 France.
