P219 CJEFAX 219 Tue 5 Jun 21:30/11       PIGGOTT TO QUIT CECIL Lester Piggott, 11 times champion jockey, is ending his partnership with top trainer Henry Cecil at the end of the season. The move stems from a split between Piggott and Cecil's chief patron, French millionaire Daniel Wildenstein. They parted company last year when Piggott declined the ride on All Along in the Prix dj l'Arc dj Triomphj.  Steve Cauthen will ride for Cecil next year, but Piggott was quick to deny that hj would give up altogether. He intends to ride freelance in 1985. 

A curfew and news blackout remains in force in Punjab, but Home Secretary Wale has said in Delhi that Sikhs in the Temple used mortars and machine guns to attack the security forces. He said two people weti killed and four injured, but at least 200 people have been evacuated from the temple. A dozen people were arrested outside the Indian High Commission in London during a demonstration bz Sikhs. Windows were smashed and an attempt made to set fire to curtains.
