 Diplomats said the move indicated Syria
 would continue to put pressure on Iran 
 to refrain from attacking Arab oil     
 tankers in the Gulf.                   
                                        
 Sheikh Sabah's statement followed a    
 meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Counchl
