Union leaders were told that 432 jobs [ almost 2pp of them staff - are to go in the next six months. The company, which iu forming a single subsidiary to build diesel engines, wants to close three of its five sites. (hose threatened with closure are at Sundjuland, where 157 hourl:-paid workjts and 49 staff are to go, and at Greenock and Newcastle upon T=ne, which between them will lose 77 hourly-paid and 149 staff jobs.
