 The Pope has addressed the World       
 Council of Churches in Geneva on the   
 first day of his visit to Switzerland. 
                                        
 The council represents the Protestant  
 Church in over 100 countries.          
                                        
 Both sides renewed their commitment to 
 unity and the Pope himself spoke of    
 his own personal commitment.           
                                        
 He spoke of their common concerns for  
 human freedom and justice, but at the  
 same time acknowledged the differences
