 Ljadjts of the 10 Communist countries  
 in the Comecon trading bloc are meeting
 in Moscow today for their first summit 
 in 15 years.                           
                                        
 The meeting, expected to last three    
 days, was opened bz the Soviet         
 President, Mr Chjtnjnko.               
                                        
 The agenda has not been disclosed but  
 the liadjrs are expected to issue a    
 statement on tension between East and  
 West and to approve a plan for greater 
 integration of their economies.        
                                        
 The long delay in calling the meeting  
 is thought to have been caused by      
 serious differences between Moscow     
 and the other capitals.
