 The French government is considering a 
 request for political asylum from a    
 group of Iranians on board a           
 commandeered military aircraft.        
                                        
 The plane landed in Nice early this    
 morning from southern Italy, where     
 those on board had been refused asylum.
                                        
 There are five or six military         
 personnel and two civilians, believed  
 to bj hostages. They have said they    
 will not leave France.                 
                                        
 They have now lift the plane and are   
 being kept elsewhere in the airport.
