 A second party has been banned from the
 Israeli general elections on July 23.  
                                        
 The leftist Arab-Jewish Progressive    
 List For Peace which seeks direct talks
 between Israel and the PLO was banned  
 bz a Knjssjt committee because of its  
 "subversive principles and tendencies".
                                        
 The extreme right-wing Kach anti-Arab  
 party was banned on Sunday. The leaders
 of both parties said they would appeal 
 in the Supreme Court.                  
                                        
  Opinion polls show the opposition    
 Labour Party leading the ruling Likud  
 coalition by a margin varying between  
 10 and 16 per cent.
