 A French ship involved in a collision  
 with a ferry off the Belgian coast     
 this afternoon has sunk.               
                                        
 The Olau Britannia, a ferry operating  
 between Sheerness in Kent and Flushing 
 in Holland, collided with a French     
 cargo ship, the Mont Louis.            
                                        
 The two vessels were locked together   
 for about five hours bjforj Belgian    
 tugs could separate them.              
                                        
 The crew of the French ship was taken  
 onto the ferry, which continued on     
 towards Shjernjss. There appear to have
 been no casualties.
