 Transport Secretary Mr Nicholas Ridli8 
 has condemned the national dock strike 
 as one of the craziest examples of     
 industrial action ever.                
                                        
 In a statement today, hj said thjrj was
 no industrial issue at stake - no      
 quarrel between employer and worker.   
                                        
 The walkout was just the latest        
 chapter in efforts to win support for  
 "the political challenge" being mounted
 bz the miners' president, Mu Arthur    
 Scargill, hj said.                     
                                        
 A union spokesman said yesterday that  
 the strike was in protest at a decision
 by British Steel to unload a blacked   
 coal ship at Hunterston.
