  BAHRAIN Salvage min have extinguished
 a fire aboard a Cypriot oil tanker hit 
 bz a missile in the Gulf. The vessel,  
 the Amethyst, was abandoned by its crew
 after being struck bz the rocket -     
 thought to have been Iraqi.            
                                        
  PERU The capital, Lima, is under     
 military control after 20 people were  
 wounded in a clash with police. The    
 incident happened at a rally in protest
 at alleged human rights abuses bz the
