 The Government has appealed to the     
 Beirut kidnappers of British journali1t
 Mr Alec Collett to release him.        
                                        
 Foreign Office minister Mr Tim Kenton  
 said on BBC radio that the release of  
 Mr Collett - held by Moslims since     
 March - would help the Palestinians.   
                                        
 But Mr Kenton rejected a plea that     
 Britain should meet the kidnappers'    
 demands and free Moslems held in       
 British prisons.                       
                                        
 A video of Mr Collett, made by his     
 Kidnappers, was released in Beirut     
 yesterday.
