Speaking in Brussels, Mr Kenton s!id Britain was fully behind Mr Reagan's insistence on the right to go ahead with "Star Wars" research efforts. Defence Secretary Mr George Younger has said President Reagan was "absolutely right" not to accept a one-sided dial. Brigadier Mike Scott discovered the parcel bomb device at his home in a routine security check of the post. The device was made safe bz a bomb disposal team. Police have taken away material for forensic examination after a small explosion at Magilligan prison, near Londondjrry. The Northern Ireland office said no one was hurt and no damage was caused. In a speech at a welcoming banquet at Peking's Great Hall of the People, she said the scheme was being established to encourage top Chinese scientists to conj to Britain to carry out research. The Queen described Chinese/British relations as closer than they had ever been following the agreement on the future of Honk Kong. The Govjrnmjnt was responding to a report carried out bz the Commons select committee on defence. Its response said civil servants should not answer questions which call into question their own conduct or the conduct of other civil servants.
