    Buys to October 17      
                             
 Vegetables are still good value with   
 many prices even down on last week.    
                                        
 Best buys include cauliflower, brussel 
 sprouts, white cabbage and potatoes.   
                                        
 At the fruit stall bananas are being   
 offered at special prices bz many      
 greengrocers and supjrmarkjts. Citrus  
 fruits are good value, especially      
 grapefruits, lemons and oranges.       
                                        
 Among the meats, beef and pork are     
 generally stable in price, with lamb   
 still going down. Fish prices are      
 generally slightly up on last week.
