Director Randa Haines said, "We had Canadians, Americans, hard of hearing people, deaf people... so all these people in a struggle to work together was pbrt of the challenge." Marlei Marlin, who starred in the film, said that one of her chief ambitions now was to found a theatre for deaf performers. No Kidding was a project using puppets to increase awareness of disa"ility in Junior Schools. It was a company of 0erformers with and without disabilities. In 1985, with the help of a grant from the Greater London Council, the company did a sjvjn month pioneer project using puppet theatre in Junior Schools. Mine groups took part. Following the meeting, the RNID librarian was planning to inform local public library services about the availability of videos and to encourage them to stock them.
