The warning comes after a child died from choking on hair that came out of its toy. Suppliers are urged to only sell those toys that have securely fastened hair, and parents are advised to keep an eye on children playing with these toys. Fruit juice, wholemeal bread and low- fat milk have shown the sharpest rise, while sales of fresh fruits and vegetables are on the increase too. Average spending on food for the home - excluding sweets, soft drinks, alcohol and pet foods - was £10.04 per person each week, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods. More
